Partnership with Building Futures
About Building Futures
Building Futures mission is to build communities with underserved individuals and families, where they are safely and supportively housed, free from homelessness and domestic violence.
The seed of what was to become Building Futures with Women and Children (“Building Futures”) was planted in 1986, when a group of community volunteers came together to create a winter overnight shelter for homeless women and children. Today, Building Futures provides Alameda County families and individuals experiencing homelessness and domestic violence with a range of programming including permanent supportive housing, a housing assistance program, three shelters serving women and children, and an array of domestic violence counseling, support groups, and other services.
